
Two F-16’s from the Royal Netherlands Airforce, flying with callsigns AG01 and 02, seen in action at Volkel Airbase during their Quick Reaction Alert task. 24 Hours a day and 7 days a week. These armed F-16’s are ready for take-off at Volkel Airbase and Leeuwarden Airbase to intercept unidentified aircraft in Dutch, Belgium and Luxembourg Airspace. One of the two F-16’s, J-063, is known as the migkiller. It shot down a Servian Mig-29 in 1999.
Dutch F-16’s are armed with 2 AIM-120 Amraam raderguided missiles and 2 sidewinder heatseaking missiles. The Netherlands and Belgium are taking care of the Dutch, Belgium and Luxembourg Airspace in turns.
